Happy Thanksgiving
Today's quote on the calendar Rob and Leah gave me is this
"The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have."
Norman Vincente Peale
When I feel the worst. The saddest. The most anxious. The most angry.
Is when I have selfishly narrowed my view to my own world and own problems that I feel most hopeless.
It is often when I am flying in an airplane , watching the horizon from a boat, running on the shoreline of the ocean before the sunrises, or looking out at the lake and vastness of wilderness that I am reminded of how small I am.
I feel a closeness to God in these moments. I try and remember theses moments when I feel the heavy weight of the world on my shoulders.
God is taking care of me and this world. We must trust this.
I am thankful for the reminder that we are part of something bigger and that we are all in this together.
I am grateful for each of you and the knowing I am not alone in this world.
" Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns dial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. I can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend."
Melody Beattie
Many prayers for those missing loved ones during the holidays this year.
As Kate Bowler says,
" Life is so hard. Life is so beautiful!"
Wishing you a thanksgiving full of sharing love with loved ones and strangers. And a salmonella free turkey :)
