Happy Father's Day! I am grateful for the many awesome dads in my life. These kind of Holidays seem to be tough for many because they bring up emotions of joy, love and grief. But I do love any day to celebrate something and believe we are meant to experience joy amongst the heartache and so I hope if today bring sadness...

Summer is here , you can tell by the amount of water balloon pieces in our back yard and permanent fixture of the air mattress , pillows , and blankets in our living room.

I promised Mike I would be better this year and I will... just giving us a two week grace period to soak in the first two weeks while we still like each...

Summer days are here- excitement and fear in the pic above! School is out for G! Graham Theo Thames. Theo meaning gift from God. Who truly is our wild Indian, bull in a china shop, pull my hair out, life loving, funny and entertaining gift from God. He was our bonus baby who has brought more joy than we could imagine in t...

I have been writing over the past months but not knowing what to share and sometimes if it is too much and too sad to read. But last week , I lost a dear friend. As I put it on a facebook post,

Emily and John were our, in the boat buddies , fighting the waves of this this relentless storm. Emily's death has left me breath...

As I ran the first  morning at the beach last week , dark storm clouds were rolling in. I use to be very fearful of storms. However after walking through the storm of cancer , I actually have grown to love these storms.

Sometimes my world feels that dark .

I ran all the way down to the end of the pier ....

Wanted to share two quotes as we are fortunate enough to head to the beach, my favorite place , for the week. My heart is always in two places.

Life is beautiful and life is sad. I pray we can all be patient enough , quiet enough, and listen enough to nature to hear what it is saying. To allow our hearts to be broke...

“Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is all we need, not more.” — Mother Teresa

We are meant to live in the present moment and only that moment, yet it is a simple but extremely difficult task. I strive to do this but fail daily.

I continue to pray for my friend Emily, who needs a miracle.

Do not wait for the...

Day +855

Hi all ,

I wanted to send a quick update after Mikes latest Pet scan because so many of you have been praying and thinking of us and we are so grateful.

Mike and I went it Augusta last Wednesday for his routine scan and to see Dr. Kota.

We were so very grateful to receive good news and the simple yet powerful gift...

I wanted to share a quick quote I read yesterday,

" Where there is great love there are miracles." Willa Cather

These words hit home to me because I have been a front row witness to this in the past three years. But know it is also true in the years prior to the call of cancer to our lives.

I went with Heather and my mom to...
