The Army of Love

Fueled by Courage and Hope

The No One Fights Alone Army is an Army of Love inspired by the journey of one's battle with Leukemia. Every day we choose HOPE, when doubting would be easier.

We choose to FIGHT LIKE MIKE, trusting God will do the rest.

We stand tall because we know deep in our roots we are never alone. We want to pay it forward and give others the hope we have felt from those who love us dearly and those who are complete strangers. This is our dream. Our hopes that in your darkest hours you too, know you are NEVER ALONE. We hope you will find this website a place where you can find stories of hope and inspiration, share your stories, and connect with others.

We hope you find it a place where you can

FEEL love. SHARE love. That's all.

Day + 1118

11/29/19

So many of you are praying for us and we are so thankful. We are in the care of amazing hands of angels disguised as nurses and doctors at Emory .

The last 5 days have spiraled into what have been the scariest and darkest days of my life. And my heart hurts to even write about it.

But I am trying to be a...

As many of you know, Mike is in the ICU at Emory fighting an infection in his leg and fluid in his lungs.  He’s having a CT scan this afternoon to determine next steps to help him breathe easier.

As Lindsey and Mike move through these difficult waters, I know his army of love, fueled by courage and hope, wants to be...

Above the dark clouds there is a light you can not always see.

Dark clouds, turbulence, loud thunder, the storms of life.

They exist everyday. Everyday is not bright and sunny.

But the light is still there.

I was reminded of this light above the storm clouds of life when flying recently.

I  was a little bit  nervous  looking...

I wanted to share this picture today as it has been my motivation lately and reminder to keep surrendering to the journey.

On July 4th Mike started an antibiotic at Winship for his lung infection. He has been on this same IV antibiotic , EVERY single day since( except the 1 day we actually forgot).

We went to emory everyday...

Hi all ! We are so excited to be with you all next Saturday ! Thank you so much for purchasing tickets, donating , and supporting us in this mission to share love and bring awareness to blood cancers . Here are some logistics and info for Saturday. The party will start at 4. The field is located next to the Pope’s Residents 3051 Payton Rd Atlanta, 30345 There will be signs and balloons at the entrance. We will park as many cars as we can on the grass in front of the field and then will continue parking down the street. You do NOT need to bring tickets. If you have not bought tickets ahead of time , we will have card readers so you can purchase or donate at the field day if you would like too. But it is not a requirement. We will also have t-shirts at the event to purchase. You can purchase or make a donation with a credit card, cash, or check. We will have a place where you can sign your name on a frame or poster , so we can know who all came :) We do not have a very tight schedule or program. The hope is for the following to take place around these times but they are not set in stone. Kind of like our cancer journey , we have learned to expect things might not go exactly as planned. 4:30 *Welcome/Thank you *A representative from Be the Match is coming to speak briefly about the importance of joining the registry. There will a table so you can have a chance to be swabbed and join the registry if you have not had a chance before. 4:30-5 Jambalaya will be ready. As well as BBQ , macaroni and cheese , coleslaw , chips , and dessert. 6:00 *Welcome from Heather *One of our beloved friend and nurse will say a few things briefly about the Bone Marrow Transplant floor at Emory. She has been at Emory since the first transplant done over 30 years ago. *Mike will introduce Dr. Kota. *Dr Kota will speak briefly on the research our foundation is supporting. The rest of the time will be for enjoying each other , food , water balloon toss, and more. I will add that there will be a dunk tank. If you think you or your children might want to be dunked , you may want to bring a towel or change of clothes. This is a very casual event. It will probably be hot 🥵, saying our prayers it will cool down some this week 🙏🏽. Many will be coming from the race , from one sweaty event to the next. So wear something cool and casual. One other thing - We will have chairs and tables but if you have camping /fold up chairs or picnic blankets you may want to bring them. If you have any other questions please email us this week :) We can’t wait ! Love you all 🧡

“ If we all grief to do it work, the love that lives within it becomes ever more clear and present to us. In time , the love has a way of overtaking the grief , so that our loving, rather than our grieving , becomes our primary bond to what we have lost. It is lots our cure. It is this novethat is our cure. “ Jan Richards...

Day +1047

9/20/19

Hi all,

I wanted to clear up a few questions people have asked about Mike’s treatment since the last email I sent out. I think there was some confusion in the way I explained things.  The problem is that things change so quickly , so as soon as I have a chance to send something , the plan may have changed...

Love has evolved to be our remedy from the pain that these last three years have brought our family.

Love is running through each of our veins of blood, equally as present as white cells, red cells, and platelets.

Love lives in the center of our soul and body, our heart. This is where God lives for me in each of us. A...
